Delinquent blogger...

We've had a fun couple of weeks. Anna, my old roommate and good friend from college came to Seattle for a week to visit before her big move to Austin, TX. Avery was in love as soon as she met her. Pretty sure the only word she uttered the first day was "Anna". I got to have some grown up time and Anna even did a little babysitting so Chris and I could get out on our own. Avery and I have also made a trip to the pool, the zoo and the beach with some of our PEPS friends. Add in a few playdates with friends, trips to the park and cupcakes and it's been a fabulous March! Oh yeah, and we bought a house. Did we forget to mention that? We closed on the first day of spring! We'll post pics of that soon. And, we got a new camera (courtesy of "nina" for Christmas), this hopefully means we will post more and better photos.
Don't you just love this face?

I've made sure to teach her a love of Trophy cupcakes early.

We've almost mastered the big girl cup.

Puzzle Time

Avery is amazing us every day with all that she learns so quickly. She has (almost) mastered putting her puzzles together all by herself. Her vocabulary grows every day too. Here's a little video to prove it, since she won't say a word on the phone to anyone. Side note: I was in the middle of getting her dressed for the day and she needed a puzzle break, hence the nude baby video.

Beautiful Weekend.

We had a beautiful weekend in Seattle, so we got out and enjoyed it while it lasted. On Friday, Avery and I played outside a lot to enjoy the great weather. Chris made a trek to Boise, Idaho to meet with a pudelpointer breeder. We have decided it's time to make the leap and become dog owners, and in true Chris fashion, he is doing all of his research before we actually make the move. He visited Cedarwoods which is a place that comes highly recommended. We are going to wait until we are settled into our new house before we embark on this new journey. Avery and I went to the zoo on Saturday while he was away to enjoy the unseasonable 60 degree weather. She had a great time as usual. Sunday, we took Avery to see the beautiful cherry blossoms on UW's campus. There were a lot of people enjoying the sites, even if the weather wasn't as nice. Avery, of course, put on a show for everyone. She had about 10 people standing around her and laughing with her at one point. We have decided she definitely enjoys being the center of attention.

New tricks

Avery and I survived the week without Chris. He got back Sunday night, so Avery was excited to see him when she woke up in the morning. In fact, she was so excited he was home, she had a very sad day at school. They called me at work to ask if she had a hard weekend, because she was really sad. Alas, daddy saved the day and they had a great evening together. Avery never stops amazing us. She can now put together her puzzles all by herself, it's the cutest thing to watch. And she has now decided that she needs to sit in the rocking chair by herself to read her books.

Cheesin with daddy!
Her feet rest in her chair like this every meal. Since she was 6 months old. Had to get it on film.
Serious book...
